It was at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College that Raymond Ng (TCFS 1996) learnt to think critically about issues and to view things from ‘a different angle and perspective’, opening the door to a career in management consultancy and as a guest lecturer.

On Sunday 25 June, alumni, former and current staff of the Foundation Studies (FS) program were invited back to the College for the inaugural 20 year plus FS alumni reunion held in the Gateway building.

We recently welcomed back to the College, Lara Nicholls (TC 1986), to introduce John Kelly at the Beyond Woop Woop exhibition opening on Thursday 22 June.

On Thursday 22 June, the Warden of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College, Professor Ken Hinchcliff, opened the second exhibition in The Professor Sir Joseph Burke Gallery, Beyond Woop Woop. 

Stephen Burns was appointed a Professor by the University of Divinity Council on 7 June 2017.

When Charmaine Yee (TCFS 2004) was just 15-years-old her drama teacher pulled her aside and said, “one day your voice will be your asset.” Now, a successful radio host of Kiss 92FM and television presenter, Charmaine could not have known how prophetic these words would be. Vivian Chan and Ruby Crysell from the Careers and Alumni team recently caught up with Charmaine in Singapore.
 

While every one of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ's lecturers is stellar in his/her own right, there are certain lecturers who are just so impressive: any student who has had the pleasure of crossing paths with her would remember Dr Maureen Vincent, lecturer in the Foundation Studies Program.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College is delighted to announce that Mr Charles Sitch commenced his term in office as Chairman of the Board of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College on (18 May 2017), after his appointment by the Council at its May meeting.

Like many journalism students, Louis Dai (TC 2007) started out with a passion for telling stories that needed to be told. However, Louis and his friends David Elliot-Jones (TC 2007) and Lachlan McLeod (TC 2007) would never have guessed that one day they would become documentary filmmakers.

At the end of 2016, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College’s Joan F W Munro Professor of Historical Theology, and Deputy Dean of the Theological School, The Revd Professor Mark Lindsay, journeyed to Princeton Theological Seminary to conduct research on Markus Barth (son of Swiss theologian Karl Barth). He reflects on a theologian deeply engaged with politics and faith.

The recent Oscar-nominated Australian drama, Lion, starring Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and Sunny Pawar, alerted the general public in Australia and throughout the world to the scale of poverty that exists within the slums of India. It’s a story however, that won’t surprise twelve ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ students who headed to Delhi in January 2017, to volunteer with The Asha Foundation, the goal, to empower local children through education.

Off the back of an incredible tour of the UK and Ireland, The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Tiger Tones, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College’s premier all male acapella group is proud to announce that in December 2017 they will be going on a world tour.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ alumni David Clark (TC 2003) and Campbell Cooke (TC 2012) both worked for large international companies, but have chosen now to work at Cameron Harrison, a blue-chip wealth and investment management firm.

Rohan Ramakrishnan (TCFS 2005), has announced the official launch of The ASEAN Post (TAP) for the third quarter of 2017, a digital newspaper devoted to covering news from across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.

In February 2017, Jessica Tan (February Main Intake 2017), daughter of Madam Choong Wai Lan (TCFS 1994), created history by becoming the first offspring of any Foundation Studies alumni to study at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ College.
